Back in the Swing of Things

KME 1st graders have been working hard getting back into the swing of things since the crazy month of January.  Hopefully, we won't have anymore snow/cold days.

Currently, our students are working on two brand new skills for this unit. 
We are starting with "telling and writing time to the half hour".

Our objectives include:

1. Correctly identifying the time and recording it in digital form

2. Correctly showing the time on a class clock

3. Correctly drawing the hands on a clock - Emphasis on correct location of hour hand and clearly seeing the difference between the size of the hour and minute hand.

Home Connection: Have your student draw a clock to match their bedtime or dinner time.

We are also reviewing the skill, mentally counting forwards and backwards by 10's from any number.
